ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad and other parts of the country at 5:30 am Friday.
Tremors lasting for two to three seconds were also felt in several cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
Fearfully, people emerged from their houses and began reciting passages from the Holy Quran.
There have been no reports of fatalities or property damage from the earthquake anywhere in the nation.

According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the quake was located in the Southwestern Kashmir at the depth of 11 kilometres.
Earlier on Wednesday night multiple tremors were felt in Islamabad and Rawalpindi at around 9:50 PM, lasting for 4-5 seconds.
