LAHORE: The Government of Punjab announced a nine-day Eid-ul-Fitr holidays for Daanish schools across the province on Saturday.
According to a notification issued by the provincial government, the holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 will start from April 6 (Saturday) and will remain closed until April 14 (Sunday). Eid holidays have been extended to give students of Daanish schools enough time to prepare and participate in the festivities.
Yesterday, a notification surfaced online suggesting that the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays will be from April 9 to April 12 (Tuesday to Friday) in Pakistan. Howeever, the federal government has announced 4-day holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.

Sources privy to the information have told that the notification circulating online is incorrect as the government has not announced Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. People are requested to avoid sharing fake notifications on WhatsApp groups and social sites.
This year, the Eid holidays are expected to start from April 9 (Tuesday) to April 12 (Friday) with Saturdays and Sundays as weekend holidays.
