How to offer Eid prayer – complete guide

There are two units (raka’ah) in the Eid prayer. In the first, the Imam will guide the congregation in making several takbirs before reciting the surah Fatiha and additional verses from the Quran. Additionally, there are several takbirs in the second raka’ah. Upon concluding the prayer, the Imam will deliver a two-part sermon.

Muslims are supposed to hear the sermon before wishing their loved ones a happy Eid Mubarak and starting the celebrations.
