LAHORE: In advance of the next general elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started to distribute postal ballots.
The electoral body made the announcement today.
All eligible voters will finish using the postal ballot paper to cast their votes by January 22, according to the ECP.
They can go to the website of the electoral authority and download an application for a postal ballot.
The voter must mail his ballot to the District Returning Officer (DRO) within the allotted time frame after receiving it by mail.
The ECP is working nonstop to guarantee that all of the country’s arrangements are flawless in advance of the general elections that are scheduled for February 8 in Pakistan.
The ECP released its “Code of Conduct for Security Personnel” to guarantee that stringent security measures were in place prior to polling days, cautioning them against showing prejudice while performing their duties.

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are directed to carry out their tasks in compliance with the law and within the parameters of the police mandate by the ECP’s protocol, which does not apply to the Armed Forces or Civil Armed Forces.
Personnel responsible for providing security for the printing and transportation of voting materials and polling bag sets shall carry out their duties in accordance with Article 220 of the Pakistani Constitution, Section 5, as well as Section 193 of the Election Act, 2017.

The electoral body has emphasized that LEAs must “remain impartial and neutral throughout the election process […] and shall not act in favor of or against any political party or candidate in any manner whatsoever,” ordering the security apparatus to collaborate with district returning officers (DROs), returning officers (ROs), and presiding officers (POs).
Stressing how important it is to have a transparent and peaceful voting process, the ECP has issued a warning to security staff not to deny a voter the opportunity to cast a ballot.
