Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, the leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam, stated on Tuesday that his party preferred to be in the opposition to being in power, according to sources.

According to reports, Fazal said these things when Shehbaz Sharif visited the JUI chief late on Tuesday night.
The leader also questioned Shehbaz on how the polls had been rigged to steal his mandate.
Fazal received an invitation from Shehbaz to join the coalition aiming to form a government. But Fazal assured Shehbaz that he would forward the ideas to the central committee of his party.

Six party representatives had earlier said that they would attempt to form a government together at a joint news conference in Islamabad. Shehbaz was questioned by several media representatives regarding Fazal’s disappearance from the scene and whether or not he will be a part of the new alliance.
