The ministry is committed to putting together a highly qualified and polished team of subject matter experts for the permanent cloud office. The Ministry of IT and Telecom’s premises will house the cloud office’s initial secretariat, with plans to move to a more suitable location as workload demands.

In February 2022, Pakistan’s Cloud First Policy was adopted by the government with the aim of leveraging cloud technology to propel the country forward. In March 2022, Syed Junaid Imam, a Member of IT, assumed the additional responsibility of Director General Cloud at the temporary cloud office.

In order to guarantee a reliable and secure digital infrastructure, these baselines will be customized to fit various cloud models assigned for hosting different data classes for Public Service Entities.

It is projected that the creation of this permanent cloud office will quicken the adoption of cloud-based solutions in a number of industries, encouraging creativity, effectiveness, and improved cybersecurity.
