Gas cylinder explosion injures four at Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Four people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in the basement canteen of the Supreme Court.

The explosion shook the Supreme Court building, the injured were shifted to the hospital for immediate medical attention, one is said to be in critical condition.

Security and rescue personnel reached the spot, a bomb disposal squad team has also reached the Supreme Court, the team has started collecting evidence.

The explosion also damaged furniture in the canteen, the glass of the Bar Association reception was broken, while Court No. 6 was also affected. Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and Justice Malik Shahzad were hearing the case before the explosion.

The relevant authorities have started investigating the explosion. Rescue sources said that the explosion took place during the repair of the AC gas plant, which shook the Supreme Court building. Immediately after which the lawyers and Supreme Court staff came out to an open area outside the building.
