LAHORE: Humayun Akhtar, a PTI leader and former federal minister, has chosen to join Jahangir Tareen’s Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
At a press conference where IPP founder Jehangir Khan Tareen and party president Abdul Aleem Khan were present, Humayun Akhtar made his announcement.
He claimed that he could not continue living alone at PTI. All of our old friends have regrouped, he said.
He declared, “Together, we will strive for the nation’s prosperity.”
A few days ago, Tareen, along with Ishaq Khakwani and Awn Chaudhry, other leaders of the IPP, met with Akhtar at his home. He was invited to join the IPP by its leaders.
It is pertinent to mention here that Akhtar left the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in June over the May 9 incidents.
