Iran not ‘well-liked’ in region: Biden

According to a White House spokesperson, Iran’s destabilizing actions in the area are demonstrated by its strike on Pakistan.

US President Joe Biden chastised Iran for striking Pakistan, claiming that the warring nations’ actions demonstrated Tehran’s lack of popularity in the area.

As Biden took off for North Carolina on Air Force One, White House national security secretary John Kirby informed reporters that Washington was keeping a careful eye on the conflicts between Iran and Pakistan.

Following a trade of airstrikes on each other’s territory, Iran and Pakistan, separately, alarmed UN chief Antonio Guterres.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, stated, “The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the recent exchange of military strikes between Iran and Pakistan.”

“He urges both countries to exercise maximum restraint to avoid a further escalation of tensions.”

As a “series of highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision military strikes against terrorist hideouts” in Sistan-Baluchistan, the raids on Thursday were termed as such by Pakistan’s foreign minister.

According to IRNA, which cited the province’s deputy governor, Alireza Marhamati, three drones destroyed four houses in a village close to Saravan at around 4:30 in the morning (0100 GMT).
