ISLAMABAD: According to Khawaja Asif, the former minister of defense, the former army chief was involved in giving money to people who participated in the Faizabad sit-in.
A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said in an interview that former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa allegedly admitted to giving money to Faizabad sit-in participants during a Security Committee meeting.

Khawaja Asif went on to say that the former army chief made it clear that the money was set aside to make it easier for participants in the sit-in who couldn’t afford to return home.
Asif went on to say that he was personally informed by General Qamar Javed Bajwa regarding the distribution of funds, demonstrating their authority over every facet of the sit-in.
