On Thursday, the police reported that a man brutally killed his wife and seven young children using a hammer in Alipur.
The children’s ages ranged from six months to eight years old.
The man, a tailor by profession, killed his whole family to death with the hammer in Mudwala area located in Saddar Police Station limits of Alipur.
The police said that the preliminary investigation indicated that Sajjad Hussain had massacred his family due to poverty.
Familicide refers to the killing of family members or even oneself. While it is not widespread in Pakistan, several incidents have been reported in recent months.
