Mohsin Naqvi to be appointed as new PCB chairman

ISLAMABAD: Following the departure of, the caretaker government has chosen to appoint Mohsin Naqvi as head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Sources claim that Mohsin Naqvi, the acting chief minister of Punjab, will take Zaka Ashraf’s place as the PCB chairman nominee.

Mohsin Naqvi is expected to be proposed as the Board of Governors’ patron first, according to sources.

According to the 2014 constitution, the PCB must appoint two members who will be personally nominated by the PCB patron, four of the sixteen regional delegates, and four representatives of service organizations to the board of governors.

Zaka Ashraf said last week that he will be leaving his position as chairman and member of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Managing Committee.

At the end of the fourth meeting of the Management Committee (MC) of the Pakistan Cricket Board, which took place on Friday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, Zaka declared the decision.

Zaka Ashraf declared that he has chosen to submit his resignation to the honorable patron temporary prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, both as chairman and member of the MC.

Zaka Ashraf’s resignation has been accepted by Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar.
