Muhammad Rizwan will replace Shadab Khan in T20 format and take over as deputy to skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi.
On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board named wicket-keeper and batter Muhammad Rizwan as the T20 team’s vice-captain.
The board announced the development of X, formerly known as Twitter.
“@iMRizwanPak has been appointed vice-captain of Pakistan’s T20I team,” the PCB announced in a post.
Rizwan will replace Shadab Khan in the team, serving as a deputy to skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi in the shortest format of cricket.
It should be mentioned that Rizwan was recently preferred by former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi for the position of captain over left-arm fast Shaheen for the T20 team, which raised many eyebrows.

The legendary all-rounder of his period stated, “[I respect Rizwan’s] hard effort and concentrate level. His strongest talent, which I like the most, is his ability to focus solely on his game and pay no attention to who is doing what or not. “He is a real fighter!”
“I wanted to see him [Rizwan] as the T20 captain, but by mistake, Shaheen became the skipper,” Afridi joked, looking at the left-arm quick who was sitting behind him at the event.
