Names of expected ministers in KP cabinet disclosed

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s new Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi took oath as the province’s 30th Chief Executive.

According to sources, new faces are expected to be included in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet along with old faces.

Seven regions of the province will be represented in the provincial cabinet. Consultations are underway to include women in the cabinet.

New faces are also likely to be included in the cabinet from Swat, Dir, and Buner. Initially, 5 members will be taken from the southern districts.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will take the approval of the cabinet in a meeting with the founder of PTI.

According to sources, former advisor Barrister Muhammad Saif and Muzammil Aslam are strong candidates for the cabinet again; former provincial ministers Mina Khan Afridi and Aftab Alam are also strong candidates.

3 ministers who were removed from the cabinet during Ali Amin’s tenure can become part of the cabinet again, Faisal Tarakai, Aqibullah, and Shakeel Khan have resigned.

Former Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra is also a favorite to join the cabinet.

Former Speaker Mushtaq Ghani and Fazal Shakoor may also become part of the cabinet, while the name of Provincial Assembly member Taj Muhammad Tarand from Battagram may also be drawn.

Initially, 5 members will be taken from the southern districts.
