A record to be used as a guide in the party’s forthcoming general election campaign

Lahore: According to a party spokesperson in Lahore, the PML-N party has finalized a nine-point agenda that will be used as a guide in their campaign for the upcoming general elections, which are set for February 8, 2024.

Important items on the agenda include cutting back on government and administrative costs, increasing national income, improving productivity, overhauling the tax code, and taking prompt action to expand exports.

The agenda also includes measures to improve information technology, lower fuel and electricity costs, restructure financially troubled government agencies, create jobs for women and young people, modernize agriculture with technology, and reform the legal system.

On the directive of the Supreme Court, the party led by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was recently cleared in two corruption cases that were brought against him in 2017. The party has become the authorities’ new favorite as a result of this development.

In July 2017, Nawaz Sharif was permanently barred from politics by the Supreme Court due to petitions submitted in the wake of the Panama Papers scandal.  However, the parliament reduced the length of a legislator’s disqualification to five years by amending the Election Act, 2017. Nawaz Sharif would serve as prime minister for a fourth term if elected.
