Opportunities in Qatar; Pak-Qatar sign agreements to boost Pakistani workforce

ISLAMABAD: The major goal of this program was to greatly increase employment prospects for the Pakistani workforce in Qatar.

The governments of Pakistan and Qatar have signed various agreements and letter of intents (LOIs) with leading Qatari firms.

The signing of these agreements with well-known Qatari companies, such as Al Rawnaq International Commercial Projects, Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al Thani (JMJ) Holding, Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Company W.L.L (HBK), Ali Bin Ali Holding W.L.L, and Qatari Diyar-Saudi Bin Laden Group Construction (QD-SBG), according to an official source, represents a significant step in improving bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar in the area of human resource development.

Along with these agreements, the Pakistani delegation met with Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, and discussed hiring Pakistani labor for various projects undertaken by the company. A tour of Elegancia Health Care’s View Hospital was also included in the visit.

This facility is used to hire Pakistani medical personnel as a result of a recent Memorandum of Understanding between Elegancia Health Care and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) of Pakistan.

The principal aim of these programs is to generate more employment opportunities for people from Pakistan in Qatar. SAPM Malik outlined the government’s initiatives to expedite this process by utilizing reputable recruitment firms, fostering skill development, and attending to the demands of overseas employers, while also highlighting Pakistan’s potential as a major exporter of labor.

According to Qatari government rules, the CEOs of the enterprises in Qatar conveyed their contentment with the Pakistani labor and their readiness to augment their workforce with more Pakistanis.

Following Qatar’s major infrastructural growth, the talks also highlighted the growing need for skilled personnel in industries like services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction.

These talks and agreements are a big step toward strengthening Pakistani workers’ presence in Qatar, which will help both countries’ economies flourish and their bilateral relations.
