Pakistan-China border opens after four months of closure

GILGIT: The Pakistan-China border at Khunjarab pass opened for trade and tourism today (Monday) after being closed for four months.

According to the details, under the border agreement, the Pakistan-China border remains closed from December 1 to March 31 every year due to severe weather which makes traveling nearly impossible.

Border officials said that border traffic is closed due to snowfall and cold weather under the agreement.

Authorities closed the Pakistan-China border for commercial and tourism activities. However, there is an exchange of traffic used for development works at the country level.
