ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Hockey Team manager Anjum Saeed was allegedly off-loaded from a flight upon returning from an international tour after reportedly smoking on board.
Sources said the incident occurred during a transit stop in Brazil on the way back from Argentina. The flight crew reportedly complained about the smoking, leading security personnel to off-load Anjum Saeed.
All other squad members returned home, while Saeed and one player remained behind.
However, Anjum Saeed has denied the incident, stating that no such event took place. He clarified that he had stayed in Dubai for work with a player during the return journey.
The national squad returned to Pakistan two days ago, with Anjum Saeed and the player arriving last night. Sources added that security officials detained them briefly and imposed a fine, but the matter concluded without further action.
