PCB appoints Sami Burney as new media department head

LAHORE: Replacing Aalia Rasheed, Sami Burney has been made Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Media Director.

Aalia Rasheed had earlier announced her resignation from her in a X-(Twitter) post.

Aliya Rasheed was the first woman to lead the media department and was appointed during PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf’s term.

Sources claimed there was a lot of pressure on Alia Rasheed after she released the statement about captaincy without asking Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Sami Burney has previously served as media director of the PCB.
