Three of the aircraft’s navigation systems ceased functioning at the same time aboard Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-217, which was traveling from Peshawar to Dubai. This was a significant technical issue.

The three INS systems failed, forcing the flight to be redirected to Karachi. The autopilot and other linked systems were also turned off as a result of the INS malfunction.
