ISLAMABAD: According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the cabinet approved the 5G summary on September 25, 2025, but despite the approval, the summary has not yet been received by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
PTA sources say that the PTA is unaware of the provisions of the summary and it could have been changed after approval. After receiving the summary, it will be implemented as a policy directive in the PTA.
According to sources, after receiving the summary, the PTA will issue an information memorandum, in which the auction rules will be clarified and the further process will be started based on these rules.
PTA sources said that 274 MHz is currently available in the country and efforts are being made to increase it to 600 MHz for 5G so that the use of modern technology is facilitated.
