The Punjab provincial government has declared April 1, 2024, as a public holiday for the Christian community in honor of the “Day after Easter.”
The notification stated, “It is notified for general information that a Public Holiday shall be observed on April 15, 2024 (Monday) in observance of the “Day after Easter” exclusively for the Christian Community throughout the province.”
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, had earlier declared financial assistance for the community on Easter. The announcement states that every Christian family in Punjab’s 36 districts will get Rs. 5,000.

The Sindh government has also been notified of two public holidays in the first week of April across the province. In a notification, the provincial government announced April 1st as a public holiday for the Christian community on the occasion of ”Day After Easter.”
