LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a thorough warning of possible flooding and intense rainfall, along with hailstorms, in several regions of the state.
Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur are among the places that are anticipated to be impacted. In addition, during February 18 and 19, thunderstorms and mild to moderate rain are predicted in Multan, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Layyah, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) have been directed by the PDMA to guarantee readiness and implement the required actions to mitigate the possible hazards. Additionally, they have asked authorities and rescue workers to be watchful and well-prepared throughout the anticipated period in order to react quickly to any situations.
Tourists have been advised to seek advice and assistance from local authorities, law enforcement, and rescue services in the event of an emergency. They have also been warned about the risks associated with flooding and landslides by the PDMA.

In the meantime, forecasts for moderate to severe rainfall in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Islamabad, and Balochistan have been released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The NDMA has warned that from February 18 to 20, there may be road closures in a number of places due to heavy rain and snowfall. Landslides are also possible during the predicted period in Upper KP, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. Rain and snow are anticipated this weekend.
