Rawalpindi traffic plan for Pak vs NZ T20 Series issued

RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has issued a traffic plan with the deployment of 367 personnel to keep the traffic flowing on alternative routes during the Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 series, scheduled to be played from April 16 to April 21 at Pinid Cricket Stadium.

During the arrival and departure of the cricket teams, Murree Road would remain closed from Faizabad to Double Road. Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted to the expressway from Faizabad. However, during the matches, the Double/Stadium Road would be closed to traffic from both sides.

The traffic from Murree Road will be able to enter Islamabad by using 6th Road, Saidpur Road while traffic coming from Ghousia Chowk will be diverted to Farooq Azam Road, Kuri Road.

Meanwhile, traffic coming from 9th Avenue will enter Rawalpindi through Faizabad and the expressway and Pandora Chungi, Katarian, Carriage Factory, Prodhai Mor, and Chak Madad. Traffic from Rawalpindi to Double Road and 9th Avenue Islamabad will use Murree Road to enter the capital.

A spokesman for the traffic police said more than 367 traffic police officers and personnel including seven DSPs/Circle In-charges, 40 Inspectors, and 318 Traffic Police Wardens and assistants will be on special duties.

Parking for the Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 series

Parking facilities have been made at the Civil Aviation ground Shaheen Chowk, Shehbaz Sharif Park near Shaheen Chowk, and Government Degree College Satellite.

The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan said awareness banners regarding alternative routes and parking spaces will be displayed on main roads for the convenience of citizens.
