Former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter has died

Former US first lady Rosalynn Carter has died at the age of 96.

According to the French news agency, former US President Jimmy Carter and his wife’s organization Carter Center announced that former US first lady Rosalynn Carter died yesterday at her residence in the state of Georgia at the age of 96.

Jimmy Carter said in his statement that Rosalynn was an equal partner in all his successes.

The former Democratic president said his wife always provided him with wise guidance, encouragement and support.

US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden said in a statement that during the election campaigns, we always felt Rosalyn Carter’s hope, warmth, deep love and partnership.

Former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton described Rosalynn Carter as a compassionate person and a determined champion of human dignity, saying they are deeply grateful for Rosalynn Carter’s service.

 

Jimmy Carter was the President of the United States from 1977 to 1981, he also served as the Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975.
