Saudi Arabia ready to recognize Israel, claims Joe Biden

United States President Joe Biden during a TV interview on Tuesday revealed that Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel as a state and can announce it at any time.

During the interview with late-night comedian Seth Meyers, POTUS spelled out the measures being taken to defuse ongoing tension in Gaza and there is hope for a cease-fire in Gaza, and a two-state solution is necessary to maintain Israel’s existence.

The American president disclosed in the interview that Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel and is in contact with 6 Arab countries including Qatar.

He added: “I get criticized for having said a long time ago, that you need not be a Jew to be a Zionist. I’m a Zionist.” Biden has repeated this statement throughout his career to reaffirm his support for Israel.

Furthermore, Joe Biden added that if Israel does not ensure the protection of the Palestinians, it will lose international support. Israel is ready to stop the attacks on Gaza in the month of Ramadan, and the implementation of the ceasefire will start in the next few days, he added.

According to the Gaza health ministry, at least 29,878 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory during the Israeli bombardment started after October 7.

The toll includes at least 96 deaths in the past 24 hours, while 70,215 people have been wounded since the conflict began, a ministry statement said.
