Security concerns: IG Islamabad assures situation is under control

ISLAMABAD: In response to worries on the closing of educational institutions, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Inspector General (IG) of the Islamabad Police, has emphasized that the security and law and order situation in the capital is currently under control.

The Inspector General (IG) said in a statement that unlawful assemblies are completely forbidden in Islamabad and that steps are being taken by the authorities to ensure public safety.

He underlined the possible risks involved and asked the public to abstain from attending or planning such events.

The Inspector General promised that the police warn those who try to hold unlawful meetings about the possible risks as well. He made it clear that there is no pressing need to alter daily schedules or educational settings because of fear.

The Inspector General emphasized the commitment of the police force and said they will keep up their attentive service to the community. The goal is to establish a safe atmosphere that permits elections to be held without incident.

Speaking to the people directly, the Inspector General (IG) provided reassurance that nothing in Islamabad is really affecting daily life. He recommended against following rumors and against doing needless actions that can jeopardize the security situation.
