Suspect kills himself after murdering seven people in the Joliet shooting

Authorities in the area say they were called to homes on West Acres Road where several victims with gunshot wounds had been discovered dead.

The suspect in the shootings that left seven people dead in two separate homes in Joliet, Illinois, was declared dead by the authorities on Monday.

The bodies of five victims were found in one house, while two more victims were found in an adjacent house on West Acres Road. Earlier, the police announced that they were searching for a suspect, whom they identified as Romeo Nance, 23.

According to reports from the police, Nance was “driving a Red Toyota Camry with the license plate Q730412 and should be considered armed and dangerous.”

Nance was found by US Marshals close to Natalia, Texas, late on Monday night, according to the police. It was thought that Nance “took his own life with a handgun following a confrontation with Texas law enforcement officials.”

Multiple victims with gunshot wounds were discovered dead at homes along West Acres Road, according to the local authorities, who dispatched help.

Authorities posted on Facebook late on Monday afternoon, stating, “As this investigation moves forward, the information remains fluid and ever-changing.”

In relation to two further shootings that happened on Sunday, the Will County Sheriff’s Office stated that it was trying to find the same car.

When police arrived at the Pheasant Run Apartments in unincorporated Joliet Township at approximately 4:27 p.m., they discovered a male who seemed to have been shot in the head and was bleeding profusely.

The victim, Toyosi Bakare, 28, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later declared deceased.

According to Jungle, “he was originally from Nigeria and had been in Will County for the past three years.”
