CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani suspends ASI Imtiaz Nasir on Saturday from the police department over slapping an elderly woman in the Taxila police station area on Saturday.

The CPO suspended ASI Imtiaz Nasir on the incident and ordered SP Pothohar to submit an inquiry report within 03 hours. Rawalpindi Police shared notification of cop dismissal.

Taking on X, Police shared a statement, citing CPO Rawalpindi said, misbehavior and ill-treatment of women will not be tolerated in any case and self-accountability will be ensured at all times.

There is no place in Rawalpindi Police for those who violate the authority and hurt the dignity of the department, CPO said.

Earlier, a video of ASI Imtiaz slapping an elderly woman and pushing her to the ground in the general area of Taxila went viral.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident took place when the police officers were trying to arrest Basir Khan – who they said was wanted in connection with pickpocketing incidents.

Police said that when the incident happened, Khan and the woman, who was his mother, were resisting arrest. The ASI can be seen in the video misbehaving with the lady.
