Famous Islamic scholar Nasir Madni suffers heart attack during Friday prayers

MULTAN: A renowned religious scholar, Allama Nasir Madni, today suffered a heart attack as he delivered a sermon during Friday prayers in Jahanian of Khanewal District in Punjab province.

According to reports, Madni was rushed to a hospital in Multan city, where he arrived in critical condition. The scholar was reciting the Kalima (a key Islamic mantra) at the time his health deteriorated and witnesses claimed that he had suffered a cardiac episode and collapsed on the pulpit during the sermon.

First aid was immediately administered to him before he was shifted to Multan for treatment. DSP Jahanian Malik Abdul Majeed was also present at the mosque on this occasion.
