BGOTA: A tragic accident occurred in Colombia where a bus carrying school children fell into a ravine, resulting in the deaths of 17 students and injuries to 20 others.
The governor of Antioquia province, Andrés Julian, confirmed the incident in a statement on the social media platform X, saying that the bus was traveling from the Caribbean coastal city of Toluca to Medellin.
The bus was carrying students from Antioquiano High School who were returning from a school trip. Rescue operations continued after the accident, while the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals.
The governor says that this tragedy, which occurred in the month of December, is very painful news for the entire community.
