ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district and sessions court on Friday sent the accused in the TikToker Samiya Hijab case to Adiala jail on judicial remand for 14 days.

The accused, Hassan Zahid, is facing charges of threatening and attempting to kidnap the TikToker.

Shalimar police produced the accused in front of Judicial Magistrate Yasin Mehmood Chaudhry after the lapse of his physical remand.

The police applied for a five-day extension in the physical remand, but the judge turned down the request of police and jailed the accused on judicial remand.

On September 1, a case was filed in the Shalimar police station against the accused for intimidating the TikToker and making death threats against him. He was arrested on the same date by the police.

In the FIR, the victim claimed that the accused had been stalking her for a few days and kept sending gifts, trying to pressure her.

Samia Hijab, a TikToker, also informed police that on August 31, approximately at 6:30 pm, the accused tried to forcibly drag her away from outside her residence and openly threatened to kill her in retaliation.

The victim had also posted a video on the matter on her social media page, which she later produced in front of the police with CCTV footage.

Earlier, Samiya Hijab, after remaining silent on the social media gossip, had confessed to having a ‘relationship’ with Hassan Zahid.

Samiya disclosed that the person who had attempted the kidnapping was her former fiancé.

Her claim was made following videos showing her being presented with gifts and interacting with Hassan online, where users accused her of attention-seeking.

Samiya, in a social media video statement, confirmed that the man who had been arrested, Hassan Zahid, was indeed her fiancé, but broke off the engagement after realizing the truth about him.

In April this year, TikToker Samiya Hijab refuted that the said obscene videos trending online were her’s, stating that the leaked videos were not genuine and were leaked by her former boyfriend.

As her leaked videos went viral, Samiya Hijab became a trending topic on platforms such as Google and social media.
