MUMBAI: Indian star cricketer Mohammad Shami has rubbished rumors of his marriage with tennis great Sania Mirza. The uproar started after fake photos and unfounded claims that Shami and Mirza were about to tie the knot.
As per the details, in a recent interview, the right-arm fast bowler lamented the fake news about his alleged marriage to Sania Mirza and urged people to consider the impact of such rumours.
He urged everyone to be responsible with social media and refrain from spreading such baseless news, calling it strange as people do such things for some silly fun.
“I see those memes. Memes are meant for fun, but when they’re relevant to someone’s life, you should think before you share. People share from unverified sources and they say anything and run away”, he said.
The cricketer also challenged those spreading false rumours, urging them to post their claims from verified accounts, and highlighted the importance of personal development and contributing to society rather than spreading misinformation.
The cricketer also expressed his dismay at the false claims and clarified that he will not tolerate such baseless speculations.
