KARACHI: The German Consulate in Karachi has announced the restoration of visa service in the city after a temporary suspension, here on Saturday.
As per the details, the German Consulate in Karachi had earlier suspended the visa service due to security concerns. However, now they have announced to restore these services.
“The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi has resumed normal operations for non-EU nationals,” it said in a statement on Friday.
It is worth mentioning that Germany is considered as the favorite destination of Pakistanis. Last year, German missions received a record 19,095 visa applications from Pakistani nationals, surpassing the number of applications made in other Schengen countries.
Of these applications, 11,630 were approved and 7,370 were rejected. This high rejection rate makes Pakistan one of the top ten nationalities with the highest number of visa rejections by Germany in 2023.

Additionally, Pakistanis spent 3.3 million euros on visa applications, the highest amount spent by any nationality in 2023 despite high rejection rates.
