Police says actor Humaira Asghar’s body likely six months old

KARACHI: The dead body of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali is probably six months old, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Raza said after her partially decomposed body was found a day earlier in her rented apartment in DHA Karachi.

The 32-year-old actor was found dead in her apartment, where she was living alone for seven years. She was found when police, accompanied by a bailiff, broke open the door of her apartment in a residential building in Ittehad Commercial, DHA Phase VI.

The autopsy was conducted at Jinnah Hospital. A day earlier, Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed said that the cause of the actor’s death remains unknown as her body was in an advanced state of decomposition.

She further revealed that DNA and chemical samples have been collected, and facts will be revealed after the examination of the samples.

Talking to the media, DIG South Raza said that the expiry date of food and drinks found in the flat is 2024, and the last messages in the deceased’s phone records are also from October 2024.

Similarly, two SIMs in her cell phone were dead /inactive since September 2024, as per the call data record obtained by investigators. He said that the power supply to her flat was also disconnected in October 2024, reportedly by the KE over non-payment of dues.
