LAHORE: ISLAMABAD: A huge fire broke out in Lahore’s Hafeez Center, a multi-story building of a mobile market in Gulberg area, on Thursday afternoon, engulfing several shops and offices. Rescue officials confirmed that the fire has been brought under control.

As per details, five fire brigade vehicles extinguished the blaze, which started due to a short circuit in the basement of the building.

Officials said that before the fire broke out, there were small-intensity explosions in the basement, and cars and motorcycles parked in the basement also caught fire.

Earlier, the videos shared on social media showed heavy smoke rising from the building.

The Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that the fire erupted in the lower portion of the building, and fire brigade teams are currently working to bring the situation under control.

Officials said that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and no immediate reports of injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
