Punjab CM action against transporters for overcharging has been ordered ahead of Eid to protect passengers from unfair fares.

In Lahore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to take strict action against transporters charging extra money from people travelling to their hometowns. The order comes as travel increases before Eid.

She asked officials to make sure that approved fare lists are followed in all districts. Punjab CM action against transporters for overcharging includes legal steps against anyone violating official rates.

Deputy commissioners have been told to closely monitor transport operations. They will also check ticket black marketing and ensure that fare lists are clearly displayed at all bus terminals.

The chief minister also focused on facilities for passengers. She directed authorities to arrange Iftar for fasting travellers during Ramazan. Waiting areas must have proper seating and fans for comfort.

Cleanliness at bus stands was also highlighted. Officials have been instructed to carry out regular inspections to improve services and provide relief to the public.

Punjab CM action against transporters for overcharging also aims to stop exploitation of poor passengers travelling home for Eid. Strict monitoring of markets and bazaars has also been ordered during the shopping season.

Separately, Maryam Nawaz met China’s new Consul General Sun Yan in Lahore. Both sides discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, energy, and technology, and reaffirmed strong Pakistan-China relations.
