Shawwal moon sighting Pakistan is expected to be decided today as the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee holds an important meeting in Islamabad. The announcement will confirm the date of Eid ul Fitr in the country.

The meeting is being held on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Kohsar Block, Pak Secretariat. Committee Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad will lead the session.

Zonal and district committees are also meeting in different cities across Pakistan on the same day. They will collect reports of moon sighting from local observers.

The Ministry has asked citizens to share any reliable information about the moon sighting. All reports will be carefully reviewed along with technical data before making a final decision.

According to scientific forecasts, the chances of Shawwal moon sighting Pakistan today are low. SUPARCO said the moon will be born early morning, but its age at sunset will be around 12 hours and 41 minutes, which makes visibility difficult.

If the moon is not sighted today, Eid ul Fitr is likely to be celebrated on March 21, 2026. However, the final decision will depend on the official announcement by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
