Govt approves Feb 6 holiday in Lahore

LAHORE: Lahore has declared a local holiday on February 6 on the occasion of Basant.

The Punjab government, on the proposal of the district administration, approved the holiday on this day so that citizens can participate in the traditional celebration of Basant. The district administration had earlier proposed a holiday on February 5, however, the Punjab government has declared a local holiday on February 6, Friday.

According to DC Lahore, children below the age of 18 can celebrate Basant with their families so that discipline and safety can be ensured during this time.

It should be remembered that due to the Kashmir Day holiday on February 5, the citizens of Lahore will get both Thursday and Friday off.
