ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani educationist and women’s rights activist Dr. Arfa Syeda Zehra has passed away, confirmed by actor, director and producer Adeel Hashmi on his official Facebook page.
She was highly regarded for her work as a teacher, a researcher, a social leader, and an intellectual.
In his post, Adeel Hashmi shared a photograph with Dr. Zehra and said, “Dr. Arfa Syeda has left us. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. We learned to love language and life from her.”
Dr. Zehra played an influential role in the development of education, ethics, and social reform in Pakistan. Her contributions toward women’s rights and academic research gained recognition as one of the most influential thinkers of the country.
Her death has left a void in the intellectual and social fraternity of Pakistan. Grieving people from all walks of life reacted to the demise of the committed scholar who had inspired generations.
