Saba Qamar serves Rs100 million legal notice over defamation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has issued a legal notice of Rs 100 million against journalist Naeem Hanif for making baseless allegations.

According to the report, the move came after the journalist made unsubstantiated and defamatory allegations about actress Saba Qamar during a podcast.

According to the legal notice, the journalist had claimed in her YouTube program that Saba Qamar stayed in a house in the Walton area of ​​Lahore that was allegedly provided to her by an unknown person. The actress called these allegations false, baseless and an attempt to assassinate her character.

Sharing a screenshot of the podcast on her Instagram account, Saba Qamar said that such baseless things are spread only to tarnish the reputation of women.

The notice issued by the actress’s legal team said that if a public apology is not made within seven days and the relevant content is not deleted from digital platforms, then the court will be approached.

The actress has appealed to her fans and the public to raise their voices against fake news and character assassination and play their role in promoting responsible journalism.
