‘Too Much’ singer Oakley Neil Caesar-Su converts to Islam

LONDON: Oakley Neil Caesar-Su, the British singer and rapper of the popular English song ‘Too Much’ released in 2023 and better known as Central C, has converted to Islam.

The singer also confirmed his conversion to Islam and name change during a livestream. He announced during a livestream that he had just changed his name and recited the Kalima Shahadah, now I am a Muslim.

The 27-year-old rapper also revealed that after converting to Islam, he changed his first name from Oakley to Aqeel. He recited the Kalima Shahadah during the livestream.

Central C has gained the attention of millions of fans around the world due to his unique music and lyrics related to ordinary life.

Friends who were with him during the livestream congratulated him, but he did not elaborate further on his spiritual journey.

Before this announcement, Central C had never openly discussed his religious beliefs, although fans had speculated after seeing Arabic captions in some of his social media posts.

Born in London on June 4, 1998, Central C began his music career in 2014. He has since become one of the leading figures in the world of British drill and rap music.

In 2024, he was named the most-streamed British rapper in the world, with his songs having been streamed billions of times across various platforms.
