ISLAMABAD: Pakistani content creators have been the victims of a series of video leak scandals, and the latest in the list of the most serious is TV show host Mona Alam, who has announced a dangerous trend.
The anchor-person vowed to take legal action after being linked to explicit images and videos that have been circulating online.
In a social media post, the journalist condemned the malicious trend of video leaks by online trolls who keep sharing them through false ropes in Mona. The victim, stressing that the woman seen in the video is a proven criminal, shared her picture to clarify the situation.
She stressed that her character remains tainted and warned that those who wage a smear campaign against her will face legal consequences.
The latest incident is part of a wider problem involving AI-generated content and misleading images targeting TikTokers.
Several social media sensations including TV show host Mathira also fell victim to the incident as she addressed the viral video allegedly involving her, confirming that it was fabricated using AI.
Meanwhile, activists condemned the spread of fake videos, urging the public not to engage with or share the content and report it to the relevant platforms.
