Abbas Araghchi Islamabad Talks have come into focus after Iran’s Foreign Minister clarified his country’s position on negotiations in Pakistan.
Speaking in a statement, Abbas Araghchi said Iran has never refused to travel to Islamabad for talks. He addressed recent reports suggesting otherwise and rejected claims that Iran is unwilling to engage.
He stressed that Iran supports dialogue, but only under clear conditions. According to him, any negotiation must lead to a complete and lasting end to the ongoing conflict.
The Iranian minister also thanked Pakistan for its role in promoting ceasefire efforts. He said Iran appreciates the country’s sincere attempts to reduce tensions in the region.
Araghchi further criticized sections of the US media. He said Iran’s stance is being misrepresented and does not reflect the reality of its diplomatic position.
Earlier, a US newspaper had claimed that Iran was not ready to meet American officials in Islamabad. The report also suggested that recent regional efforts for a ceasefire had reached a dead end.
According to that report, Iran had informed mediators that US demands were not acceptable. However, Iranian officials have now clarified that the country has not rejected talks in Islamabad.
The situation highlights ongoing diplomatic efforts and the importance of accurate reporting during sensitive negotiations.
