Iran appoints new security chief after Larijani killing has become a major development as tensions rise in the region. The government in Iran has taken quick action following the killing of a key figure.
Authorities have named Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr as the new secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. This move comes after the reported killing of Ali Larijani, which has increased concerns about security and stability.
At the same time, Iranian missiles struck parts of Tel Aviv. The attacks caused serious damage to buildings and at least four people were reported dead. Emergency teams are working in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump said that talks are ongoing between the United States and Iran. He claimed both sides may reach a wider agreement and added that Iran is ready for peace.
However, officials in Tehran strongly rejected these claims. Iranian parliamentary leaders said there are no talks with the US and described such statements as false. They also accused such claims of affecting global oil and financial markets.
Despite the mixed messages, the situation remains tense. United States Central Command confirmed that US forces continue strikes on Iranian targets. At the same time, Iran has reportedly launched missiles and drones toward Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
Experts say the appointment of a new security chief shows Iran is preparing for a longer conflict while also managing internal security.
