The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a major Islamabad cultural tourism project aimed at turning the capital into a vibrant hub for culture and visitors. The initiative seeks to modernize the city’s public spaces while keeping its identity as a garden city intact.
As part of the project, CDA is inviting proposals from nationally and internationally recognized individual consultants. The selected consultant will act as a creative director for Islamabad, integrating art, heritage, sports, leisure, culinary experiences, and ecological spaces across the city. The goal is to reshape public areas into cohesive and engaging destinations for both residents and tourists.
Officials said the initiative goes beyond ordinary city beautification. It includes creating cultural and heritage trails, green corridors, civic plazas, sports and wellness zones, and culinary districts. The project also envisions a citywide tourism framework to enhance visitor experiences and strengthen Islamabad’s cultural identity on an international scale.
Eligible consultants must have at least 20 years of leadership experience in urban regeneration, place-making, or destination development. CDA emphasized the importance of professionals with a proven record of delivering impactful public projects at the national or global level.
Proposal documents are now available on CDA’s official platforms. The authority has noted that it reserves the right to accept or reject submissions in accordance with its rules. Through this initiative, Islamabad is expected to become a leading destination for culture and tourism, attracting both local and international visitors.
By integrating art, leisure, and heritage into urban planning, the Islamabad cultural tourism project aims to offer a dynamic, modern city experience while preserving its traditional charm.
