ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa questioned the legitimacy of the government’s fact-finding committee in the Faizabad sit-in review case, terming it as dust and saying that Pakistan will not run on scraps of paper.
According to the details, the Faizabad sit-in revision case was heard in the Supreme Court, a 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard it, Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Jamal Mandukhel are part of the bench.
The Attorney General and others came to rostrum, the Chief Justice of Pakistan directed the Attorney General to read the order of the previous hearing, the Attorney General said that he wanted to withdraw the defense ministry’s review request, on which the Chief Justice inquired where Absar Alam was. The Attorney General said that Absar Alam is on the way.
The Chief Justice said that Absar Alam has made serious allegations against the employees of the Ministry of Defense, then the Attorney General said that a fact-finding committee has been set up for the investigation.

Regarding you, when was the fact-finding committee set up? So the Attorney General told the court that the committee was constituted on October 19.
Justice Athar Manullah inquired whether the country is following the constitution after the court decision. Can you guarantee that today the country is running according to the constitution?
Justice Qazi Isa remarked that why the court decision has not been implemented till date, a gentleman was imported from outside and went back, the sit-in did not happen suddenly, who was the mastermind? There is no interest in the committee report.
The Chief Justice said that if Absar Alam’s allegations are proved true, the matter will come to the Ministry of Defence.
Does the Ministry of Defense still want to withdraw its request? The Attorney General said that the federal government wants to implement the decision, the establishment of the fact-finding committee is a link in this regard.
The Chief Justice inquired that where is the notification of the establishment of the committee? To whom will the report be given? The Attorney General said that the committee will give the report to the Ministry of Defense.
The first meeting was held on October 26. The committee report will also be presented in the court. People have been acquitted, where is it written in the committee TORs, what is to be investigated? Is the investigation to be done on the flood or something else?
Justice Athar Manullah inquired whether the approval of the committee has been given by the cabinet. Under which law has the committee been established? The Supreme Court questioned the legitimacy of the fact-finding committee.
The Chief Justice said that what will happen if Absar Alam or anyone refuses to appear in the committee? The committee can do anything on the evidence under the Inquiry Commission Act, the government has not done anything to implement the court decision, the government should clearly say that it has not done anything.
Justice Athar Manullah remarked that the approval of the federal government is required for the commission, so the Attorney General said that a new commission will be formed under the Inquiry Act. It was said that the supremacy of the Constitution should be established at any cost, the Faizabad dharna case decision is historic.
