The Ramadan moon sighting Pakistan is likely to take place on February 18, according to early forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). If the crescent appears as expected, Muslims across the country may observe their first fast on Thursday, February 19.

The PMD reported that the new moon will be born on February 17 at 5:01 pm Pakistan Standard Time. Therefore, experts believe the moon could be visible the following evening. Weather conditions are also expected to support visibility. Most parts of the country may experience clear or partly cloudy skies, which usually improve the chances of sighting the crescent.

However, the official confirmation will come only after the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee reviews moon sighting reports. The committee is responsible for verifying testimonies from across Pakistan before making a nationwide announcement. As a result, citizens are advised to wait for the formal declaration before finalizing Ramadan preparations.

The possibility of the Ramadan moon sighting Pakistan on the 29th of Shaban appears strong. Still, moon visibility can vary depending on atmospheric conditions and regional differences. Even slight cloud cover can affect sightings in some areas. Nevertheless, current forecasts suggest favorable circumstances.

Every year, the beginning of Ramadan holds deep importance for Muslims, as it marks a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. Families usually prepare in advance by arranging essential food items and adjusting daily routines. Meanwhile, mosques and community centers often finalize special prayer schedules once the date becomes official.

Authorities typically urge the public to rely on verified announcements rather than speculation. This approach helps avoid confusion and ensures that religious observances begin together across the country.

For now, all attention remains on the evening of February 18. If the crescent is sighted, Ramadan will begin the next day. Otherwise, Shaban will complete 30 days, and fasting will start later.

Until the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee issues its final statement, the expected timeline remains a forecast rather than a confirmed date.
