Saudi Arabia Iran airspace decision has drawn attention in the Middle East after the kingdom clarified its position in the rising tensions involving Iran.
Saudi Arabia has announced that its land, sea, and airspace will not be used for any action against Iran.
The announcement came as regional tensions remain high following recent political and military developments involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Iran welcomed the Saudi Arabia Iran airspace decision. Iran’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ali Reza Enayati, thanked the Saudi government for making this clear statement.
According to the Iranian ambassador, Saudi Arabia has confirmed that its territory, including airspace and waters, will not be used for attacks or military actions against Iran.
Arab media reports say Saudi Arabia has also been trying to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States through diplomatic efforts.
Meanwhile, former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki Al Faisal also commented on the wider regional situation.
In an interview with international media, Prince Turki Al Faisal said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the United States several times to convince former US President Donald Trump to support a war.
He added that the current tensions reflect what he described as Netanyahu’s war, claiming the Israeli leader wants freedom to act without restrictions.
The Saudi Arabia Iran airspace decision is being seen by analysts as a sign that Riyadh wants to avoid becoming part of a wider regional conflict.
