MUSA KHEL: Tragedy struck twice in Balochistan, Pakistan, with two separate incidents targeting laborers.

On early Sunday, unknown armed men stormed a private construction company’s camp in Balochistan’s Musa Khel District, setting machinery ablaze and abducting over 20 laborers, including drivers.

According to the police, the gunmen opened fire on the camp of the laborers working for a gas company, set ablaze eight bulldozers, and took away over 20 laborers with them.

On Saturday, seven laborers from Punjab were brutally gunned down in Khudabadan, Panjgur District. The victims, hailing from Multan and surrounding areas, were staying in a workers’ quarter when unidentified armed men opened fire.

Authorities swiftly responded, cordoning off the area and launching a search operation to track down the attackers.

Local police are investigating the motive behind the attack. In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner Panjgur, Zahid Ahmed Lango, ordered the immediate registration of non-local laborers arriving for work in the region.

He warned that strict action would be taken against those employing non-local laborers without proper registration. As per the DC’s orders, the registration process is now mandatory for all laborers coming from outside Panjgur. This measure aims to enhance security and accountability in the region.

These incidents highlight the growing concerns about violence and insecurity targeting laborers in Balochistan.
